The MCR is open and accessible 24\/7, though you are asked to be quiet after 10pm. Yes, guests are always welcome! If you\u2019re bringing more than 5, though, you need permission from the MCR President and the Deans. (A friendly e-mail is all you need.) Nothing! The MCR provides coffee, tea &#038; refreshments free of charge to all of its members. We ask that members use this fairly. After every Sunday Formal Hall, the MCR hosts Second Desserts in the MCR (usually circa 20:30). Exchange Dinners, organised by the MCR Social\u00a0Secretaries, are dinners with other Oxford Colleges, featuring both an \u201caway\u201d and \u201creturn\u201d leg. During the \u201caway\u201d dinner, a group of us travels to another College, where we have pre-dinner drinks, formal dinner in their Hall, and have drinks afterwards in their bar. The \u201creturn\u201d dinner, usually about a week later, consists of us inviting them back to Oriel, where we treat them to a similar evening.<br \/>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div  class=\"x-accordion-group\" ><div class=\"x-accordion-heading\"><a id=\"tab-6a2d538eaf357\" class=\"x-accordion-toggle collapsed\" role=\"tab\" data-x-toggle=\"collapse-b\" data-x-toggleable=\"6a2d538eaf357\" aria-selected=\"false\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"panel-6a2d538eaf357\">Q. What is MCR Guest Night?<\/a><\/div><div id=\"panel-6a2d538eaf357\" class=\"x-accordion-body x-collapsed\" role=\"tabpanel\" data-x-toggle-collapse=\"1\" data-x-toggleable=\"6a2d538eaf357\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-labelledby=\"tab-6a2d538eaf357\"><div class=\"x-accordion-inner\">A. Once per term, usually around 6th week, the MCR invites its members and guests to a lavish night in College on a Friday evening. The evening starts with pre-dinner champagne in Champney\u2019s Room, which continues on to a five-course (formal) meal in Hall. <\/p>\n<p>Finally, a particularly indulgent Second Desserts is held in the MCR Study Room (above the MCR), with the Bar open and serving drinks.<br \/>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div  class=\"x-accordion-group\" ><div class=\"x-accordion-heading\"><a id=\"tab-6a2d538eaf35d\" class=\"x-accordion-toggle collapsed\" role=\"tab\" data-x-toggle=\"collapse-b\" data-x-toggleable=\"6a2d538eaf35d\" aria-selected=\"false\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"panel-6a2d538eaf35d\">Q. What is the dress code for meals at Hall?<\/a><\/div><div id=\"panel-6a2d538eaf35d\" class=\"x-accordion-body x-collapsed\" role=\"tabpanel\" data-x-toggle-collapse=\"1\" data-x-toggleable=\"6a2d538eaf35d\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-labelledby=\"tab-6a2d538eaf35d\"><div class=\"x-accordion-inner\">A. All meals but Formal Hall (Dinner) are casual. Formal Hall requires jacket and tie Monday through Fridays, and a suit and tie on Sundays, with similarly appropriate attire for women. Members of Oriel College are also required to wear a gown to Formal Hall. Hall dinners, both formal and informal, must be booked in advance (with bookings opening two weeks in advance, and closing at 11:00am on the day), as must Sunday brunch. Lunch and breakfast (except Sunday, as mentioned) need not be booked.<br \/>\nThe booking system is linked in the \u201cCurrent Students\u201d section in the right-hand column, on the Oriel College website, and <a href=\"http:\/\/meals.oriel.ox.ac.uk\/\">right here<\/a>.
